Space Warriors 2000 is an Ultraman film “made” around 1985 that went straight to American TV. It was created using footage from the Thai film 6 Ultra Brothers vs. the Monster Army and the compilation movie, Ultraman Zoffy: Ultra Warriors vs. the Giant Monster Army (1984), from Tsuburaya Productions comprised of clips from several series. New footage with Caucasian actors was inserted in wraparound sequences and Space Warriors 2000 was born. Ostensibly, this hodgepodged mess is the U.S. version of 6 Ultra Brothers vs. the Monster Army.

The credits to Space Warriors 2000 clue one in as to what a bizarre ride the film is to be starring “Ultramen I through XI, Mothra,[171] Godzelda and a whole bunch of Japanese Stuntmen whose names we couldn’t read” but it’s not as amusing as it sounds. After the credits roll the whole thing gets old fast. The new patchwork “story” revolves around an Ultraman doll that magically comes to life when it is given to a young boy. The scenes where it sits up and talks to him manage to be cheap and scary at the same time and the newly-inserted Caucasian footage (Canadian actors pretending to be American) of the mother, father, and son has all the charm of a bad student film project infused with nauseating fake laughter.

Through the magic of what one can only assume was VCR to VCR editing the boy becomes Ultraman Taro (though he doesn’t go by that name[172]) and journeys to the Land of Light where he meets the Ultra Mother who now sounds vaguely like Dudley Moore in Milo and Otis. It’s basically the same principal here; taking footage of helpless creatures and dubbing new lines over them. In a further display of incompetence, Yullian, the Ultra Woman from Ultraman 80, whose suit clearly has breasts, is dubbed with a man’s voice. Classic foes such as Baltan are rechristened with names like “Lobster Man,” and all of the monsters are dubbed over with “funny” voices. It’s somewhat reminiscent of watching Mystery Science Theater 3000 do Ultraman except for the jokes aren’t funny (the film is so nonsensical that MST3K couldn’t have even made fun of it).

The film improves (somewhat) with the footage from 6 Ultra Brothers vs. the Monster Army at around the 50-minute mark. This bit is the main reason many fans even bother watching the film. Most of it revolves around Hanuman, Chaiyo Studio’s monkey god hero creation that eventually teams with the Ultras. This footage, too, is quite strange. For instance, the classical music that is played over Hanuman’s battle with the six monsters make the proceedings look like some strange form of interpretive dance. Eventually the “Space Warriors” show up and the monster battle turns into a Benny Hill-like affair with scenes in fast motion and a few silly dances. In this intended children's film’s most bizarre scene, the scene where Ultraman and Hanuman skin a monster alive is left intact! Later, Gomora (one of the more popular Ultraman monsters) is
